Description
A storage module on wheels for storing roller skates used during events and workshops. I designed and built this furniture myself. The skates are angled at a small 5-degree angle and are kept in place by a small bar.
The cabinets are connected by three hinges. Thanks to the hinges, the cabinet opens like a flightcase, allowing the skaters to grab their roller skates and swap them with their shoes. When the cabinet is closed, the skates can be easily transported.
Work description: How did you realize your project?
- The wood was first sanded thoroughly with coarse sandpaper and then fine sandpaper.
- After sanding and cleaning, all the planks were placed together and separate modules were created. First, all the planks, then the casing.
- I marked all the screw holes with a pencil.
The casing is glued, but the planks are only screwed together so that they can be repaired if needed. I carved the hinges out of the long sides so that the cabinet could open fully.
Lastly, I screwed on the wheels and then lacquered everything so that the cabinet is solid.
Final dimensions: What are the external dimensions?
Closed: height 165.0 cm width 90.0 cm depth 80.0 cm
Open: height 165.0 cm width 180.0 cm depth 40.0 cm
