Description by Nora
I used black MDF as a support for fine art photographic prints of my works on Epson Velvet paper, good for black rendering. In the center of the panel I applied Forex a little smaller than the photographic print so that it stood out in relief compared to the base. The effect had to be black on black but with this live thickness between the image and the support. The shaping of the corners and the beveling seemed to soften the whole thing, which was exhibited together with my other works in the Rubertelli hairdressing salon in Milan this March.
How I created this project
I ordered from TOSIZE.fi two black mdf panels already the right size for my photos, shaped at the corners and with beveled edges. I only created a central thickness to give relief to the prints, gluing a sheet of Forex in the center of the panels and then, on the Forex, the photographic print with the spray glue specifically for photos. Finally I added the metal triangle on the upper edge for attaching the panel to the wall using a nail.
Dimensions of my DIY project
2 panels 60.0 x 40 .0 cm
